IT asset management

Know which PCs your company has, and who uses each one

ITCore keeps a live list of your company's Windows PCs: each computer enrolls itself and keeps its details up to date. Other equipment can be recorded in a simple asset register.

PC inventory that updates itself

Automatic details

Every enrolled PC checks in every 15 minutes with its computer name, Windows user, local IP addresses, Windows version and app version. The server also records the public IP address it sees.

Assigned to a person

IT admins assign each PC to an employee, so you always know who uses which computer.

Last seen

The Devices page shows when each PC last checked in, so computers that have disappeared stand out.

Linked to tickets

Tickets sent from a PC show which computer they came from.

Enrolling PCs securely

Enrollment tokens

Created in ITCore › Devices. Each token expires, has a use limit and can be revoked.

Flash-drive setup

Copy the installer and a token file to a USB drive, run it on each PC, and the PC enrolls itself. The setup window can also rename the PC to your naming scheme.

One credential per PC

Each PC receives its own credential, encrypted with Windows DPAPI. Removing a PC in ITCore stops its credential from working.

Asset register for other equipment

For devices that do not run the Windows app, such as laptops on other systems, printers or network equipment.

Simple records

Name, type, the person it is assigned to, IP address and status for each item.

Who can manage it

IT admins and technicians manage assets; managers can see devices and who uses them.

ITCore focuses on knowing what you have and who uses it. It does not currently track purchase dates, warranties or software licences.

Questions

Which computers can enroll automatically?

Windows PCs running the ITCore desktop app. Other equipment can be added to the asset register by hand.

What does the Windows app not collect?

No screenshots or screen recordings, files or documents, keystrokes or passwords, or browsing history, and it gives no remote control of the PC.
